Battle of Chickamauga 145th Anniversary Special Edition
Sharps 1863 .54 cal. Cavalry carbine
The Battle of Chickamauga, fought September 18 to September 20, 1863, marked the end of a Union offensive in south-central Tennessee and northwestern Georgia called the Chickamauga Campaign. The battle was the most significant Union defeat in the Western Theater of the American Civil War. The battle was fought between the Union Army of the Cumberland under Maj. Gen. William Rosecrans and the Confederate Army of Tennessee under General Braxton Bragg, and was named for the (now South) Chickamauga Creek, which flows into the Tennessee River about 3.5 miles (5.6km) northeast of downtown Chattanooga.
In honor of this great campaign, Wellington LTD is proud to present our Battle of Chickamauga 145th Anniversary Special Edition. Own a unique testament to our country's history proudly displayed on Sharps 1863 .54 Cavalry carbine, one of the finest weapons of its type made today and identical to the ones that might have been used on both sides of that famous battle.
We start our historic showcase with the arrival of General Longstreet and his troops at Catoosa Station. Additional engravings celebrate Major General Patrick Cleburne and the Night Attack at Chickamauga, General Braxton Bragg and the Army of Tennessee, Gordon-Lee Mansion, the actual battle itself.
